Michael Schindler
Michael Schindler spent the early part of his childhood growing up on Elmendorf Air
Force Base where his dad was employed by the Alaskan Air Command as an engineer. His dad later transferred to the Army Corp of Engineers and Mike spent the next fifteen years under the continued influence of men and women in uniform.
Michael enlisted in the US Navy where he experienced the culture of Singapore, Japan, Philippines and parts of Malaysia. Through his personal experiences in the military and his exposure to the hardships of long deployments on servicemen and women and their families, Mike began to see firsthand the need for marriage support services.
Years later, those experiences led Michael to found Operation Military Family – an organization committed to helping drive oxygen back into military relationships and families.
As an inspirational speaker and trainer he is a strong advocate and promoter of the great work our military is doing, because, as he is known to say, “The media does a great job of pointing out what isn’t going so right.” His message of Strong Marriages plus Strong Families equal A Strong Military continues to gain momentum throughout all the military branches. This is especially true during the current tempo of high deployments.
Michael is a graduate of Western Washington University, serves as the Director of Development at Stronger Families, the nation's #1 trainer on PREPARE/ENRICH, and is a Navy veteran. He is the author of the book "Operation Military Family" which is endorsed by Gen (ret) Tommy Franks, former C-I-C U.S. Central Command. Michael has been featured on a growing number of local and national radio talk shows, and while he is absolutely passionate about helping strengthen the military family unit, he is more passionate about his beautiful wife Keri and their two amazing daughters. They currently resides in his birth town of Edmonds, Washington.
